As a member of the Stafford Group, we prioritise being a responsible presence within the communities we serve. Our business culture encourages a proactive social conscience at all levels. Our focus remains on making choices that promote social and environmental sustainability throughout our processes. We value open and ethical relationships with all stakeholders, suppliers included, while upholding principles of good corporate governance.

Tailored by Stafford asks each supplier to sign to our comprehensive Vendor Code of Conduct which establishes our minimum expectations and standards regarding employment practices, health & safety and environmental compliance.  We also encourage suppliers to adopt behaviours, procedures and practices that go beyond the minimum requirements set out in this policy.  The Vendor code of conduct has 4 sections:

  • Code of Labour Conduct (includes Modern Slavery)

  • Code of Environmental Conduct

  • Animal Welfare

  • Transparency, Auditing & Agreement

Whilst this is a good foundation, our long-term goal in our ethical compliance program is to move all our suppliers onto an auditing platform, such as SMETA.   Currently the majority of our tier one suppliers have SMETA accreditation.

Modern Slavery, Labour Laws and Ethical Supply Chains

Tailored by Stafford are conscious of the need to reduce the environmental impact of the clothes we all wear, encourage reuse to get the most from each item and then ultimately recycle.  Our objective is to stay up to date with technological changes and implement change as new opportunities present themselves and encourage our clients to join us on the journey.

The Stafford Group environmental policy operates under 5 pillars:

  1. Engaging client & customers

  2. Considered design & inputs

  3. Environmental conscious manufacturing

  4. Low impact logistics & store

  5. Greening our own backyard
